How do animals sleep?
Most people need about six hours of sleep to stay healthy. Sleeping is important, because that’s when our bodies fight off illnesses and heal injuries. It’s also when they use energy to grow.
But have you ever wondered about how animals sleep? Is it just like the same as people?
Do pets and other animals dream? Or even have nightmares?
Our friends at Greyhounds as Pets in Australia have created this infographic.
“Every animal is different” in how it sleeps, says Tom Clarke, who works with Greyhounds As Pets. “Some sleep a lot less than we do and some sleep a lot more.
“Did you know that some animals sleep standing up to protect themselves from being attacked? Giraffes are one of those animals. They usually sleep for less than two hours a day!”
THANK YOU to Tom Clarke and Greyhounds As Pets for sharing this information! Greyhounds As Pets helps dogs find loving new families after their racing days are over and they’re ready to retire. Click the blue letters to find out more about them.
